Mr. William Henry 'Wee' Wilson was born to the union of Anna
Robinson and Minus Wilson, February 18, 1918 in Palestine, Texas. He received his education in the Palestine Schools. He was a lifetime member of South Union Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson was employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad as a Red Cap, Dining Car Cook, and retired as a brakeman from union Pacific Railroad after more than 50 years of service. He served in the United States Army from 1942 -1945. Mr. Wilson and Miss Sarah Janet Jackson were united in holy matrimony on July 12, 1941. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Hiram No. 29 D.O.K.O. of Texas for many years. On January 9, 1998 at 2:55 he departed this life at V.A. Hospital in Marlin, Texas. His wife, parents, a son and three sisters preceded him in death. His survivors are: two sons, William Wilson, Jr. of Palestine and Leon N. Wilson of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter, Mrs. Bettye Wilson Brown of Duncanville, Texas; a nephew, Mr. James Robinson of Houston; brother, James 'Minner' Wilson of Palestine; a special grandson, Morris Wilson of Waco, Texas and seven other grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. |
