George F. Taylor, Sr.

Born:  21 September 1894 - Anderson County, Texas
Died: 8 March 1978 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Father:  Winston Taylor
Mother:  Mary Melissa Harris
Spouse/Informant:  Nancy Elizabeth Muse

Mr. George Taylor,  son of the late Winston and Mary Mellisa Harris Taylor was born in Anderson County, Palestine, Texas on September 21, 1894.
He attended public schools in Palestine.
He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church during his youth and later united with Antioch Baptist Church under the Rev. J.B. Atkins.
He was an employee of the George Belcher Laundry in his younger life.  Later he was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 3 brothers.  He departed this life March 8, 1978 at 9:00 p.m. at the Park Place Nursing Home.
He leaves to mourn:  a wife, Mrs. Nancy Taylor; six sons, Rev. Sylvester Taylor, Somerton, Arizona, George F. Taylor, Jessie L. Taylor, James J. Taylor all of San Bernardino, California, Lewis E. Taylor of Houston, Texas, Kenneth E. Taylor of Lynwood, California; four daughters, Mrs. Flora L. Jones of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Alma J. Paris, Mrs. Ruby J. Deadmon, and Miss Bernadine Taylor all of Dallas, Texas; twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
