On September 4, 1966 in Palestine, Texas, a baby girl was born to
the late Mr. Harlan Lovings, Sr. and Elesteen Stephens-Lovings, whom
they named Inger joye.
She entered life the beloved sister of
Harlan Lovings, Jr.
Inger Joye attended the public schools of
Palestine, Texas. After graduating, Inger Joye attended the
University of Texas at Austin and Houston Baptist College.
She
labored with her first love, children, in the Palestine Independent
School District.
Moving ever forward Inger enjoyed life as a
Dention Officer for the Anderson County Sheriff's Department, and
was later invited to join the ranks of the Dallas County Sheriff's
Department. There she served with valor, bravery, and courage.
In the year of our Lord 1979, Inger accepted Christ as her personal
friend and savior, in Galveston, Texas under the guidance of Bro.
Roy Osborne.
On the twenty-fifty day of the second month of th
eyear 1990. Inger rededicated her eternity to her master.
Left with a rich legacy of memories: her mother, Elesteen: a
brother, Mr. Harland Lovings, Jr.; two nieces, Ashley Nichole and
Mica Renee; her loving grandmother, Mrs. Eliza L. Butler-Stephens
and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Inger Joye Lovings, 23, of
Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Crockett Road Church of
Christ with Novie Cottingham officiating. Burial will be in
Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Ms. Lovings died Sunday after injuries
sustained in an accident.
She was born Sept. 4, 1966, in Palestine,
a daughter of Elesteen Stepehens Lovings and Harlan Lovings.
She was a graduate of Palestine High School and attended the
University of Texas at Austin and Houston Baptist University.
She was a detention officer for the Anderson County Sheriff's
Department until moving to Dallas and joining the Dallas County
Sheriff's Department until her death. She was a member of Salt
Works Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by her mother of
Palestine; a brother, Harlan Lovings Jr. of Houston; and her
grandmother, Eliza L. Butler Stephens.

A twenty year-old woman was killed early
Sunday morning when her car drifted off of West Oak Street and
rolled over several times.
Funeral arrangements of Inger Joye Lovings,
of 614 Giraud St., are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
According to Palestine Police officer
Richard Handorf's report,Ms. Lovings may have fallen asleep at the
wheel of her 1987 Ford Escort as she was driving east on West Oak
Street at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
When the vehicle left the roadway about
one-half mile outside the city limits, Ms. Loving overcompensated,
cuasing the car to roll over three or four times, Handorf's report
said. The car came to rest about 40 feet from the street, the
report said.
Ms. Loving's body was thrown about 70 feet
from the car into a nearby creek, the report said. She was
pronounced dead at Trinity Valley Medical Center.
A passenger in the car, Todd Howard Sharp,
21, remained in the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries,
according to the report.
