Dena Mae Johnston was born in Anderson County, Texas to Baxter Johnston and Cynthia Jane Kiser Johnston. Her parents are buried in Fort Houston Cemetery. She shares a stone with her husband, Clarence Travis “Doc” Bell, who she married on 2 June 1927 in Anderson County. She died in Anderson County and was survived by one son, Clarence Travis “Pinkey” Bell Jr. of Frankston; one brother, Sims Johnston of Palestine; three sisters, Mrs. Wade (Annie) Butler, Mrs. Curley Warren and Mrs. Hollie Warren, all of Palestine; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her obituary appeared in the Palestine Herald-Press, Thursday, 16 July 1981. |
