Clarence Bell was born in Anderson County, Texas to John K. Bell and Mary Alice Conaway Bell. His parents are buried in Bell Cemetery. He shares a stone with his wife, Dena Mae Johnston, who he married on 2 June 1927 in Anderson County. He was retired from Hunt Oil Company at the time of his death, which occurred at his home north of Harleton in Harrison County, Texas. At that time, he was survived by his wife; one son, Clarence Travis Bell, Jr.; five sisters, Katie J. Bell Bacon, Florence Martha Bell Eilenberger and Lula Bell Zoeller, all of Palestine, Lottie Mae Bell DuPree of Fort Worth, and Mary Ann Bell Horton of Portland, Texas; two brothers, Marshall Bell of Malakoff and Steve Hunter Bell of Marlin and four grandchildren. His obituary appeared in the Palestine Herald-Press, Friday, 2 June 1972. |
