Services for Rosa Lee Wilson, 95, of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Pilgrim Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at
Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. James Bass, Sr. officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson died Tuesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 27, 1907, in Freestone County to Matilda Thomas. Mrs. Wilson attended Pine Top Public School. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and she later united with Pilgrim Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir and mother of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edell Wilson; sons, Edell Wilson Jr. and Woodrow Wilson; and daughter, Mary Louise Wilson. Mrs. Wilson is survived by children, William J. Wilson, Frankie Lois Murphy and Annie L. Wilson, all of Fort Worth, and Ludie Wilson of Palestine; sister, Daisy Johnson of Washington; brother, Silman henry of Chicago; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. |
