Died:  30 June 1997
  - Memorial Mother Francis Hospital - Palestine, Anderson, Texas

Services for Mabel Willis, 98, of Palestine, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grant Chapel AME Church with the Revs. R.C. Emanuel and O.W. Wilson officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Willis died Monday at Memorial Mother Frances Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Grapeland on Dec. 11, 1898, to Tobe and Sally Lacy Rusher.  She attended Houston County schools and was a member of Grant Chapel AME Church for many years.
She is survived by her sisters, Bulah Brown of Palestine, Minnie Parker, Bernett Harris and Geraldine Patton, all of Crockett, and Ollie Mae Hopkins of San Francisco, Calif.; and brothers, the Rev. Odell Rusher and Harvey Rusher of Houston, and Albert Rusher of Los Angeles, Calif.
