Isaac W. Williams, Sr.

Born:  18 October 1903 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Died:  10 August 1996 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas

Spouse:  Mattie R. Webber - 19 March 1938

Mr. Isaac Williams, Sr., was born in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas.  He was born October 18, 1903 to the late John and Emma Clewis Williams who contrived a family of five boys and five girls.
He received Christ at an early age and united with Anderson Chapel A.M.E. Church.  Later he became affiliated with and served at Cottrell Chapel C.M.E. and subsequently Mount Vernon A.M.E. Churches of Palestine.  he attended elementary school in the community of Flint Hill where he grew up, and graduated from Lincoln High School.  He obtained the B.A. and M.A. degrees from Prairie View A&M University where he met and married his bride of fifty-one years, Mattie Webber, to this union two sons were born.
He did post graduate studies at Colorado State.  He joyfully, lovingly, and faithfully served the youth of the state of Texas for more than forty-five years while his career led him to serve in positions of principal, coach, as well as a teacher of Vocational Agriculture.  his strong desires to serve and his sense of responsibility to others called him to be activiely involve din the Anderson County Civic League for which he served a number of years as president.
He departed this life on August 10, 1996.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, two devoted sons:  Isaac Williams, Jr. of Porter, Texas and Darrell Williams, Sr. of Round Rock, Texas; two daughter-in-laws:  Ollie Williams and Ivy Williams; six grandchildren; Darrell Jr., Shauna, Ashley, Isaac III, Kristi, and Katelyn; one sister:  Arletha Williams of Los Angeles, California and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
