Ruth Day White-Tutt

Died:  8 February 2010 - Houston, Harris, Texas

Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

 

On Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, the Angels of God excorted Mrs. Ruth Tutt into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Tutt was born in Montalba, Texas on Aug. 19, 1912.  She later moved to Palestine, where she joined South Union Baptist Church as an early member and served faithfully for more than 75 years in various offices, including Womens Missions, and as Usher Board president until her health failed.  Prior to her death, she was a resident of Park Manor Nursing Home in Houston.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Peter White, Sr.; husband, Tommie Tutt; son, Peter, Jr.; daughters, Mary Velma and Shirley Ruth; granddaughters, Pamela and Deanne; grandson, Oscar (Bo-Pete); father, Charlie Lucius Day; mother, Lula LeDora Wilson-Day; sisters, Lucille, ZeEthel and Sammie Nell; and brothers, Charlie Day and Shirley Day.
She leaves to celebrate her home-going; two sisters, Carnie Lee Jordan of Palestine and Charlene Lovey of Houston; sister-in-law, LoveAnna Allen of California; sons, Joseph Bell White of Seattle, Wash., Charles Allen (Doris_ Tutt of Kerrville, Tommy (Mary) Tutt of Dallas, Alvin Lewis Tutte of Austin, Lionel Tutt of Houston and Gary Wayne (Mary) Tutt of Houston; daughter, WIlmaJean (Kenith) Booker of Spring; sons/grandsons, Karl White of Seattle, Wash., Ronald (Leatrice) Morris of Dallas, Maxmilian White of Fort Worth; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives  and friends.
The celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at South Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick Lott officiating.
The family will receive condolence calls from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at McCoy Funeral Home.
