Ruby C. Taylor West

Born:  3 November 1909
Died;  16 October 1992 - Memorial Hospital - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Father:  Henry Taylor, Sr.
Mother:  Evie Mills
Spouse:  Jimmy West

Mrs. Ruby C. Taylor West was born to the union of the late Henry Taylor, St. and Evie Mils Taylor on November 3, 1909.  She was the first of three children born to this union.  A sister, Eloise Taylor and a brother, Henry M. Taylor, Jr., preceded her in death.
Mrs. West was an active member of Mt. Vernon A.M.E. Church from early childhood, serving in various departments of the church, including the choir, Sunday School, Busy Bee Club and as a Class leader, until recently, when declining health prevented her from attending regularly.
As a student, she attended Fred Douglass Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School.
She was a trusted and valued employee of the Sunshine Laundry during its ownership by J.L. (Jakie) Boyd.  She later worked for the R.L. Kenderdine and the Bob Kenderdine families for many years.
She united in holy matrimony with Mr. Jimmy West and to their union one daughter was born.
Friday, October 16, 1992 at 3:16 p.m., she departed this life at Memorial Hospital.
Having lived a fruitful and fulfilling life, she leaves to mourn her home-going a daughter, Jimmie Lee West Johnson; a sister-in-law, Georgia Taylor; cousins, Wade Herbert Taylor, Jr., Mission Hills, Calif.; George F. Taylor, San Bernardino, Calif.; Geraldyne E. Hunter, James Taylor, and Bernadine Taylor, all of Palestine; Alma Joyce Paris, Ruby Deadmon, and Pat Bowman, all of Dallas; Flora Jones, Tucson, Arizona; Harold Taylor, Jr., Compton, Calif.; Kenneth Taylor, Los Angeles; Lewis Taylor, Houston; Jesse Taylor, San Bernardino, Ca.; other relatives, many neighbors and friends.
