Services for Harold Waters, 79, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. David L. Davis officiating.
Emanuel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mr. Waters died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Palestine to Roy and Fannie Mae Lacy Waters.
Mr. Waters attended Palestine public schools, graduating from Lincoln High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and received an honorable discharge.  He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.  He was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad for more than 35 years as a brakeman before retiring.
He was preceded in death by son, Harold Waters, Jr.
Mr. Waters is survived by his wife of 40 years, Creola Henderson; sister, Mary Ethel Crawford of Corpus Christi; five stepchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
A wake and visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today that the funeral home.
