Buddy Waters

Born:  16 September 1907 - Tucker, Texas
Died:  10 January 2003 - Stonybrook Healthcare Center - Houston, Harris, Texas
Father:  Johnnie Waters
Mother:  Nellie Quarles
Spouse:  Theresa Waters
Brothers:  Kellis Waters and William Waters

Buddy Waters was born September 16, 1907 in Tucker, Texas to Johnnie and Nellie Quarles Waters.  He was the seventh son out of eight children, all of whom preceded him in death.  He was married to Mrs. Theresa Waters and to that union one child was born, Mrs. Juliette M. Lark.  Both preceded him in death.
Mr. Waters put his own education on hold at the tender age of ten to fulfill a promise made to his father on his deathbed...to take care of his mother and younger brother.
He worked in a dairy, milking cows and taking them out to pasture and such.  As an adult he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a crame operator until he retired in the early 1960's.  For many years he was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Churhc.  He served as a member of the choir and was a Team Captain.  Mr. Waters was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Waters is survived by his granddaughter, Mrs. Jaquelyn Branch of Missouri City, Texas; five grandsons, Noel L. Lark, Jr. of Brooklyn, New York, Christian B. Lark, Adrian M. Lark, Erik F. Lark and Corey E. Lark of Houston, Texas; twenty great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and a host of cousins.  Mr. Waters went home to be with the Lord, Friday evening, January 10th, 2003 at the Stoneybrook Healthcare in Houston, Texas at the age of 95.
