Juanita Edwina Boyd Green Washington

Born:  23 April 1910 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Died:  27 August 1997 - Memorial Mother Frances Hospital - Palestine, Anderson, Texas

Juanita Boyd was born in Palestine, Texas on April 23, 1910 to the union of Oliver M. Boyd and Annie Anderson Boyd.
She attended school in the Palestine Independent School District and graduated from Lincoln High School.  She furthered her education and later graduated from May Allen College located in Crockett, Texas.
At an early age she united with West union Baptist Church and was a faithful member.
She united in holy matrimony to Mr. Frank Green and to this union one son was born.  She later married Mr. William Washington an don daughter was born to this union.
In 1948 she moved to Los Angeles, California and joined Pilgrim Baptist Church and here she worked in the Missionary Society, on the Deaconess Board, Prayer Band, and was a member of the Mother's Board of the Church.  She served her church as long as she was physically able to do so.
Because of ill health she returned to Palestine, Texas on July 18, 1997.
She departed this life on August 27, 1997 at Memorial Mother Frances Hospital in Palestine.
Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by:  her parents, husbands, a daughter, a son, brother and sister.
She is survived by:  her daughter, Mrs. Opal Bowell and her son-in-law both of Los Angeles, California; other survivors include sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wiley, Mrs. Myrtle Swanson and Olivia Word all of Palestine, Darlena Andrews and Doris Deckard both of San Antonio, and Mrs. Freddie Turner of Jamestown, California; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  She also leaves many nephews, nieces and other relatives to cherish her memory.
