Mrs. Louise Scott Updack, one of five children, was born to Wade and Catherine Scott in Marshall, Texas.  At an early age she united with the Macedonia Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas.
She came to Palestine, Texas as the bride of Mr. Percy Updack with whom she lived until his death.  She untied with West Union Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and competently until her passing.
Mrs. Updack received both her elementary and high school training in the public schools of Marshall, Texas.  She received college degrees from Bishop, Prairie View, Paul Quinn and later did graduate work at Texas Southern University.
Mrs. Updack has served her community as a public school teacher at Banks Elementary School.  After the passing of her husband she became the sole owner and manager of Updck Funeral Home.
She is survived by step-mother, Mrs. Viola Scott, Marshall, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Eric Davis, Houston, Texas; Zola Harkless and Vila Hancock, Los Angeles, California; Josie Carter, Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Mr .Jimmie Scott, Marshall, Texas; one nephew William H. Dailey, Los Angeles, California; cousins, Mrs. Louise Jackson English, Palestine, Texas; Mrs. Annie Criss and Mrs. Rogers, Denver, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends to mourn her going.
