Loretta Arlillian Carroll Tutt

Born:  28 October 1931- Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Died:  20 November 1994 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Father:  Sol Carroll
Mother:  Annie Bell Mickens
Spouse:  Jesse James Smith - 1949
Allen Tutt, Jr. - 1 November 1974

The Rose that Was ... Mrs. Loretta Tutt
Birth:  On October 28, 1931 in Palestine, Texas
Parentage:  Sol and Annie Bell Mickens Carroll became the parents of a daughter whom they named Loretta Arlillian.
Education:  She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Jarvis Christian College, Hawkins, Texas and received a degree in home economics.
Christian Faith:  She united with New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church at the age of 12, where she remained faithful until her death.  At one time she was a member of the Palestine Female Chorus.
Marriage:  In the spring of 1949 she united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Jesse James Smith, to this union 7 children were born.  November 1, 1974 she united in hold matrimony to Mr. Allen Tutt, Jr., which she remained until her demise.
Employment:  She was employed at Memorial Hospital for 18 years.
Demise:  On Sunday, November 20, 1994 in Palestine, Texas, the Angel of Silence came and relieved Loretta from her pain and suffering.  She is preceded in death by:  her parents, Sol and Annie Bell Carroll; brother, Frank Carroll; Uncle and Aunt, Sim and Lola Mickens; Uncle, Elijah Mickens; and Aunt, Willie Mae Carroll.
Those Who Remain to Meet Loretta in the Rapture:
1 Daughter:  Jessie Marie (Ronald) Smith-Sweet of Palestine, Texas
6 Sons:  Jesse James Smith, Jr., Michael (Veronica) Smith, Gerald Smith, Rolan (Olivia) Smith and Charles Smith all of Palestine, Texas, Dennis Smith of Fort Worth, Texas
1 Brother:  J.C. Holmes of Houston, Texas
2 Sisters:  Leola Crist of Palestine, Texas and Irene Ross of San Angelo, Texas
16 Grandchildren
2 Great Grandchildren
A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
