Sarah Davis Thompson

Born:  17 April 1898 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Died:  24 April 1984 - San Antonio, Bexar, Texas
Father:  Charles Davis
Mother:  Emmer Jones
Spouse:  Marcus Jones
Spouse:  John B. Thompson

SARAH DAVIS THOMPSON was born on April 17, 1898 to the union of Charles Davis and Emmer Jones Davis in Palestine, Anderson, Texas.
She attended school in Palestine, Texas where she grew up.
SHe united with South Union Baptist Church at an early age.  She remained a faithful member of this church all of her life.
She united in holy matrimony to Mr. Marcus Jones and to this union two sons were born.  Both sons, Bertrand Jones and Freddie Jones preceded her in death.
Later she married Mr. John Thompson who also preceded her in death.
She worked for many years as a domestic worker fore the late Sol Myers, and as custodian at Story Middle School for a number of years.
She departed this life 6:00 a.m. at San Antonio, Texas on April 24, 1984 at the home of her brother, Mr. Herman Davis.
Survivors include:  one brother, Mr. Herman Davis of San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter, Sudie Hubbard of Tennessee Colony, Texas; one grandson, Charles Jones, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; eight great grandchildren; one niece, Mrs. Mary Mucker of Los Angeles, California; one nephew, Willie Charles Deckard of Los Angeles, California.  She also leaves many cousins, relatives and friends.
