Millard Smith

Born:  6 August 1899
Died:  1 March 1984 - Park Place Nursing Home - Palestine, Anderson, Texas
Father:  Napoleon Smith
Mother:  Eva Green
Spouse:  Ocia Leater Clewis - 5 November 1922 - Palestine, Anderson, Texas

Mr. Millard Smith was born August 6, 1900, to the union of Napoleon Smith and Eva Green Smith at Palestine, Texas.
Here he grew up and attended the schools in Anderson County.
In early life he united with Galilee Church, and later united with Mount Olive Church where he was a faithful member.
Millard united in holy matrimony with Ocia Clewis on November 5, 1922, and ot this union four daughters were born.
For a number of years he was employed by the railroad.  Later his vocation was carpentry.
His demise came March 1, 1984, at Park Place Nursing Home, Palestine, Texas, after a short illness.
Memories will be cherished by his wife, Mrs. Ocia Smith, Palestine, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Henton, Mrs. Vivian Henton, Mrs. Lillie Holmes, of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Mamie Birdow, of Palestine, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Estella Muse, of Austin, Texas; Mrs. Lula McQueen, a most wanted daughter, and some sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.  He also leaves 16 grandchildren; some great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
