Alma Faye West Robinson

Born:  5 July 1924- Anderson County, Texas
Died:  1 July 1981 - Houston, Harris, Texas
Father:  J.D. West
Mother:  Allie Bridges
Spouse:  Hardy Robinson

Mrs. Alma Faye (West) Robinson was born to the union of Mr. J.D. and Mrs. Allie (Bridges) West on July 5, 1924.
Mrs. Robinson completed her elementary education at Douglas School and graduated from Lincoln High School in her native Palestine in 1941.
At an early age she united with the Antioch Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her decision to join the Grace Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Rev. L.C. Crosby.
In her capacity as businesswoman, Mrs. Robinson became a familiar and beloved figure in the city.
She was married to Mr. Hardy Robinson.  To this union one son was born.
She departed this life, July 1, 1981 in Houston, Texas.
Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Allie Bridges West; a son, Morris Robinson; two grandchildren, Brian and Monica Robinson; a brother, Chester West of Palestine; three sisters, Mrs. Closter McLean, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Matthews, and Mrs. Martha Pleasant, all of Houston; two aunts, Mrs. Genova Hereford of Palestine and Mrs. Surilla Green of St. Louis, Mo.; a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
