Ms. Minnie Victoria Ricks, the oldest
daughter of Tommie and Mary E. Edwards was born on June 6, 1914 in
Brushy Creek, Texas. She attended School in the Brushy Creek
Community. At an early age she was baptized by Rev. J.D. Shaw
and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Minnie later moved to Dallas, Texas where she spent the rest of her life and was loved by all who knew her. She was very active and devoted in the church and community. She placed membership at the Great Zion Baptist Church and was a faithful member. In the early 1980's, she retired and moved to Palestine, Texas, where she continued to be very active and devoted in the community. She placed membership with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member, until her health failed. She was preceded in death by seven brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Mrs. Lorrine Thomas of Ft. Worth, Texas; nieces Ruby Lee Hall of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Mercedes Miller of Arizona; nephews, Wilson Carwell, Sr. and Cubbie Carwell, Sr; great nieces Willie Mae Birdow and Gloria Butler, both of Houston, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends. |
