Mrs. Dorothy Leonia Richardson was born
August 10, 1929. She united with South Union Baptist Church as
an early age and attended the Palestine Public Schools,
Dorothy traveled extensively throughout her lifetime and would tell
you about it for hours at a time. She moved to Dallas in 1984
and was employed by her extended family Don and Robyn Conlon and
their children Casey, Keith and Kevin, who affectionately called her
'D.D.' Dorothy was known as 'Granny' in the community in which
she resided. Russell noticed that her door was not open on
Sunday morning October 11, 1998 and proceeded to notify the manager.
He stated that Granny's door was always open to anyone who needed a
helping hand, food to eat or a place to live. A song writer
wrote the lyrics "If I can help somebody with a word or song, then
my living will not be in vain." She was preceded in death by her parents Mrs. Lizzie Mae Johnson and Mr. J. Leon Booker, and husband, Mr. William 'Burr' Richardson. Dorothy departed this life October 12, 1998 at Charlston Methodist Hospital, Dallas, Texas.
