Rosetta Lockridge

Born:  27 February 1917 - Buffalo, Texas
Died:  26 January 1998

Rosetta Lockridge, the eldest of five children was born February 27, 1917 from the union of Mr. Porter and Sally Cooper.  She was born in Buffalo, Texas.  She attended Buffalo public schools and also Green Bay High School.

She was married to Mr. Willie Lee Lockridge and from this union seven children were born.  She accepted Christ in her early years of life, and was a dedicated member of Tucker Church of God in Christ, pastored by the late Elder Alvin Reeves and later Rev. Nobel Cooper.  She served as Church and Choir Pianist and Children Sunday School Teacher.

Mrs. Rosetta Lockridge was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Willie Lee Lockridge and brother Joe Cooper and sister Lizzie Lockridge.


She leaves to celebrate her home going seven children:  Eddie Brew (Waco, Texas) Marjorie Lockridge (Palestine, Texas) Lois David (Palestine, Texas) Thea Glover (Dallas, Texas), Ruby Harrison (Dallas, Texas) Willie Lockridge (Austin, Texas) and Burl Lockridge (Dallas Texas); also two sisters Falvie Bennett (Corpus Christi, Texas) and Doris Petteway (Galveston, Texas); sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,  relatives and friends.
