Services for Everline Lee, 91, of Palestine, will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salt Works Road Church of Christ with Norvie Cottingham officiating.  Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lee died Friday at Palestine Nursing Center.

She was born in Palestine on March 16, 1903, to Archie Ross and Arie Moore.  She attended Palestine schools.  She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and later joined Salt Works Road Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Will Asberry and James Lee; and two sons and two daughters.


She is survived by her sons, Lee A. Asberry and Joseph Asberry, both of Palestine, and the Rev. Robert Lee Asberry of Dallas; sister, Irma Ross of Dallas; brothers, Rob Ross of Lubbock, James Ross, Claudie Ross and Willie K. Ross, of Dallas and Steve Ross of Palestine; 31 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren,.


Condolence calls will be received from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

On the 16 of March, 1903 in Palestine, Texas, the late Mr. Archie and Arie Moore Ross became the parents of a daughter whom they named Everline.

She attended the Palestine Public Schools.


Sister Lee was baptized at a very early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Later she united with Salt Works Road Church of Christ.


On Friday morning, August 19, 1994, the angel of silence touched Everline, relieved her of pain and suffering and she began her journey.  She was preceded in death by:  two husbands, Will Asberry and James Lee; two sons, Andrew Lee Asberry and George A. Asberry, Sr.; two daughters, Fannie Mae Asberry Hamilton and Ara Mattie Lee Asberry.


Three Sons:  Lee A. Asberry and Joseph Asberry of Palestine, Elder Robert Lee Asberry of Dallas, Texas

One Sister:  Mrs. Irma Ross of Dallas, Texas
Five Brothers:  Bob Ross of Lubbock, James Ross, Claudie Ross and Willie K. Ross of Dallas, Texas and Steve Ross of Palestine
31 Grandchildren
43 Great Grandchildren
15 Great Great Grandchildren
A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
