Mr. Barrett

Services for Eldridge W. Barrett, 85, of Anderson County will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. O. W. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

Mr. Barrett died Tuesday in Anderson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 29, 1899, a son of Burrell and Cora Ryan Barrett and was a lifetime resident of Anderson County. He was a barber for many years on the old McKnight Plaza and later of Fort Street before retiring.

Survivors include a son, Seth E. Alexander; four brothers, Henderson Barrett, Bishop T. Barrett and Fineous Barrett, all of Palestine, and Warren S. Barrett of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Mrs. L. T. Brown, Mrs. O. B. Jackson and Mrs. C. M. Pinson, all of Palestine, and Valleda Larkin of Fort Worth.
