Ellen M. Bacon received a Confederate Pension #14513 from the State of Texas. She filed for her pension July 14, 1909 based on the service of her husband John Andrews Bacon who died July 14, 1896 in Anderson County, Texas. They were married September 21, 1870 in Ashley County, Arkansas. John A. Bacon served in Company B, Bass Regiment Texas, 20th Infantry. Ellen M. Bacon was 64 years old, born at Hollysprings, Mississippi. She had lived in Anderson County since 1871 and at the time of filing her application lived at P.O. RFD 5, Palestine, Texas. Her applicant was witnessed by W. A. Collier, Henry Davis and John H. McClanahan. The application was approved August 31, 1909. |
