Their son, William Anderson, was born 25 September 1888 and died 6 October 1888 and is buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Rhoda Anderson was born 8 October 1870 and died on 1 October 1888 and is buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

He shares a stone with his second wife, Sallie B. Cook Anderson, who he married 22 January 1891 in Anderson County, TX. [Volume 11 Page 352 Anderson County Texas Marriage Records]

He was a Mason. John died 24 June 1940. His death date is not engraved on his stone.

Their daughter, Sallie Anderson Nicholson, is buried in Roselawn Park.
