Richard B. Hubbard, Sr., died on 11 Oct 1864. He was buried in the Hubbard Cemetery, Smith Co, Texas. A historical marker has been placed in the cemetery in memory of this family. The cemetery has been restored by the Hide-Away-Lake Men's Garden Club.

Hubbard Middle School, 1300 Hubbard Drive, Tyler, was named for Governor Hubbard. An historical marker stands at the school in memory of the great orator and statesman.

Governor Hubbard died in 1901 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Tyler, Smith County, Texas, where there is an historical marker describing his illustrious life.
