  3. Sarah HILL, married Daniel OWENS.
  4. Rebecca Mar HILL, born 23 Mar 1810, AL; died 17 Nov 1879; buried Meador Cemetery, Smith Co, Texas; married James Calhoun HILL, 8 October 1832

He died on 21 Feb 1845 in Tennessee where he is buried.

JOHN JACOB HILL

John Jacob HILL, son of Asaap Hill and Elizabeth MARR, was born circa 1800 at Fairfield, SC. He married Mary MULLINS, daughter of William MULLINS.

Children of John Jacob Hill and Mary Mullins were as follows:

  1. Nancy Jane HILL, born 1830; died 1862; married Isaac N. GUTHRIE, 19 Jun 1856, Smith Co, Texas;
  2. Elizabeth HILL, born 1834; married Elijah MEADER.
  3. William W. HILL, born 1836; died 1917, Arlington, Texas; buried in the Masonic Cemetery, Arlington, Texas; married 1. Amanda MILLS, 2. Missouri ROWE
  4. Mary A. HILL, born 1837; married 1. Stephen C. STADLER, 2. G. P. CORNELISON
  5. Martja A HILL., born 1842; married Eli FITCH
  6. Sarah L HILL., born 1844; married Thomas POWELL
  7. Susan B. HILL, born 1844; died 1898; married Thomas FITCH
  8. Rebecca F. HILL, born 1849; married James L. Stadler; married P. L. CLAYTON
  9. Matthew Jefferson HILL, born 1852; died 1879, married Ernestine M. AUGIER

  4. Thomas Meadow HILL, born 25 May 1858 at Old Knoxville, Cherokee Co, Texas; died 8 April 1932, Troup, Texas; married Eugenia Alabama TINDEL

He died in August 1867 at Cherokee Co, Texas. Family tradition is that J. J. Hill is buried in the Old Knoxville Cemetery, Cherokee Co, Texas, but on a trip to the cemetery by Alma M. Freeland, Mae Moore Campbell and husband James, no tombstone was found.

THOMAS MEADOW HILL

Thomas Meadow HILL, son of John Jacob HILL and Jane, was born on 25 May 1858 at Old Knoxville, Cherokee Co, Texas. He married Eugenia Alabama TINDEL, daughter of John Alexander TINDEL and Josephine Antoinette AUGIER, on 20 Feb 1884 at Coesfield, Cooke Co, Texas. He died in 1932.

Children of Thomas Meadow Hill and Eugenia Alabama Tindel were as follows:

  1. Mattie Josephine HILL, born 15 August 1885, Griffin, Cherokee Co, Texas; died 1 March 1968, Groveton, Texas; married Ernest Y. BAKER, 1 November 1903;
  2. Lola Ann, born 8 January 1887, Bullard, Smith Co, Texas; died 8 March 1934; buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Tyler, Smith Co, Texas; married John R. MOORE, son of Andrew Jackson MOORE & Daratha MELTON, 31 May 1903, Smith Co, Texas.
  3. Henry Thomas HILL, born 19 January 1889 at Bullard, Smith Co, Texas; died 28 April 1974, Troup, Smith Co, Texas; married Robbie HOLLOWAY, 27 September 1914
  4. Stella May HILL, born 22 May 1891 at Bullard, Smith Co, Texas; died May 1970 at Whitehouse, Smith Co, Texas married Oscar SHANAN, 17 December 1911;
  5. Laura Florence HILL, born 4 April 1897 at Troup, Smith Co, Texas; died 1978 at Troup, Smith Co, Texas; married Orien PRUITT, 1931
  6. Mabel, born 8 Sep 1900 at Omen, Smith Co, Texas; died 1978 at Troup, Smith Co, Texas; married John Floyd STEPHENSON, 7 October 1915

Thomas died 8 April 1932 in Troup, Texas. Just over a month later Eugenia died 28 May 1932. They are buried in the City Cemetery, Troup, Smith Co, Texas.
