Cpl. Ernest V. Bickerdike, son of Mr. mind Mrs. Solan Bickerdike Tyler, husband of former Millie Milton Fields, Tyler; attended Sun Schools. Entered Air, Corps on Dec. 5, 1942, trained at Kearns, Utah, Atlanta, fia. Discharged in 1945.

Pvt. Clyde C. Bickerdike, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Bickerdike, husband of former Joyce Andrews. Entered Army in Dec., 1943, trained at New Orleans, La..and Camp Howze, Texas. Served in Alaska and Panama Canal Zone.

BICKFORD, RUSSELL M.
Pfc. Russell M. Bickford, son of George Crow, Tyler. Entered Army in 1940, trained at Ft. Bliss, Texas, Florence, Ariz. and Mobile, Ala. Served in Australia and New Zealand. Awarded AP Ribbon and AT Ribbon. Discharged in Oct., 1943.

BILLINGSLEY, FERRIS W.
Sgt. Ferris W. Billingsley, son of Mrs. J. B. Billingsley, husband of former Lorene McElroy. Entered Army in March, 1944, trained at Ft. Lewis, Wash. Served in New Guinea, Guadalcanal, Port Morbesy, Manila. Has the Bronze Star, So. Pacific and Philippine Ribbons.

BIRDWELL, JR., JABE B.
S/Sgt. Jabe B. Birdwell, Jr., son of Mrs. Monie Birdwell, husband of former Leverne Page. Entered service in Sept., 1943, trained at Camp Abbott, Ore., Camp Beal and Pittsburg, Cal. Served in New Guinea, Philippines and Australia. Awarded Pacific Battle Ribbon with two Battle Stars, Meritorious Service Award and Good Conduct.

BIRDWELL, WILLIAM W.
Cpl. William W. Birdwell, son of W. H. Birdwell, Troup, graduated from Troup H.S. Entered Army in Jan., 1942, trained at Camp Davis, N. C., Camp Breckenridge, Ky. Camp Stewart, Ga. Served in England, France, Germany. Awarded five Battle Stars, Certilicate of Merit, Good Conduct Medal.

BIRDWELL, WINSTON D.
ART 1/c Winston D. Birdwell, son of Mrs. W. H. Birdwell, Troup attended Troup H.S., Tyler Jr. College and Tyler Com. College; husband of former Jo Pruitt. Entered Navy in June, 1941, trained in San Diego, Cal., Corpus Christi. Has one Battle Star, Good Conduct Medal, ET and AP Ribbon. Discharged in Oct., 1945.

BISCOE, JERRY E.
Cpl. Jerry E. Biscoe, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Walker, husband of former Merle Smith; attended Bullard H.S. Entered Marines in 1943, trained at Camp Elliott, San Diego, Cal. Served in Australia and Peleliu. Awarded Purple Heart with one Gold Star, Bronze Star, AP Ribbon with three Battle Stars, Pres. Citation.

BLACK, DURWARD
Pfc. Durward Black, son of A. C. Black, attended Liberty Hill School. Entered Army in Nov., 1939, trained at San Antonio, Texas. Served in Italy and awarded European Medal, two Battle Stars, Good Conduct and Victory Medal. Discharged in 1945.

BLACK, CLIFFORD E.
Pfc. Clifford E. Black, father, H. H. Black. Entered Army in Aug., 1941, trained in San Diego, Cal., Camp Barkeley, Texas. Killed in Germanhy in Dec 1944. Has Medal of Honor, Purple Heart and Pres. Citation.

Cpl. Ralph Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Black, Lindale; husband of the former Dessie Dee Wright. Attended Mt. Sylvan Schools. Entered the Army Air Borne Division, Nov., 1943; trained at Ft. Sill, Okla. Served in England, France, Belgium, Germany, and Austria. Awarded ETO Ribbon with four Battle Stars, Pres. Unit Citation, and Good Conduct Medal.

BLACK, WILLIE L.
Pfc. Willie Lee Black, son of Henry Black, husband of the former Ethel Caldwell. Entered the Army, Sept., 1942, trained at Camp Hood, Texas. Served in England, Germany, Holland and Austria. Discharged at Ft. Sam Houston, Sept., 1945.

BLACK, ALPHARD M.
Alphard M. Black, son of Mrs. Levera Black. Entered the Navy in April, 1944; trained at Camp Peary, Va. Served on Guam. Attended Tyler H.S. and Oklahoma Schools.

BLACK, MELVIN E.
Pfc. Melvin E. Black, son of Mrs. Levera Black; attended Tyler Schools. Entered the Army November, 1943, trained at San Diego, Cal. Served overeas from March, 1944 to Sept., 1944 when he was killed on Pelieu Island. Received the Purple Heart, and the Presidential Citation.

BLACK, ELGIN J.
T/Sgt. Elgin J. Black, son of Mrs. Lula Blaek. husband of the former Nadell Boyd. Attended the Tyler J4. S. Entered the Army in Nov., 1939, trained at Kelly Field. Texas. Served in the British Isles, France, Belgium, and Germany. Awardad the EAME, Good Conduct Medal with four Battle Stars.

BLACKERBY, EARL B.
Pvt. Earl B. Blackerby, son of A. L. Blackerby. Entered service, Feb., 1943, trained at Ft. Knox, Ky., Arizona Desert Training Center. Served in France, Italy, England. Belghim, and Germany. Wears ETO with five Battle Stars. Wounded in May, 1945.

BLACKSTOCK, HARTEST Y.
Pfc. Hartest Y. Blackstock, son of A. H. Blackstock; wife, the former Sallie Cayle. Entered Army Air Force, Nov., 1942, trained at Salt Lake Army Air Base, Utah, Camp Crowder, Mo., and Ft. George Wright, Wash. Served in North Africa, Italy, Egypt, and Rome. Discharged, Aug., 1945. Awarded EAME, three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct.

BLACKWELL, FRANK B.
Major Frank B. Blackwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Chapman. Entered the Air Corps, 1940, trained at San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Garden City, Kansas. Served in England. France. Austria and Long Beach, Calif. Has Silver Star, DFC and one OLC, Air Medal and five OLCs.

BLANKS, JOHN D.
Pvt. John D. Blanks, son of Mrs. Mary Blanks, Tyler, husband of the former Sarah Anderson, Tyler. Attended the Whitehouse School. Entered the Corps in 1942, trained at Camp Wolters, Texas and Randolph Field. Discharged July, 1943.

BLANKS, MARK
Pfc. Mark Blanks, son of Mrs. Mary Blanks, Tyler; graduated at Whitehouse and then entered service, 1942. Trained at Camp Wolters, Hondo Army Air Field, Texas, and Seattle, Wash.
